PREVENTIIVE MEDICINE AND HEALTHCARE COSTS
Prevention of disease has proven to decrease the health care costs. But, preventing lethal diseases increases life span and, thereby, indirectly improves the demand for health care. At the same time Studies have suggested that preventing diseases that reduce longevity increases health care costs while preventing non-fatal diseases could lead to health care savings.
